The Upgrade Project

Execution Date: August 2023

Education for Africa implemented her second flagship Back-To-School Project called – ‘The Upgrade Project’ in Lagos State. The Upgrade Project was a classroom renovation project focused on refurbishing 2 deteriorated classrooms in one public secondary school in Lagos State. The project refurbished and upgraded these classrooms to create a conducive learning environment for the students in the school. The classes were painted, white boards and notice boards fixed, and 40 new furniture provided.

The Upskill Hub

The Upskill Hub

Execution Date: April 2023

The program runs with a properly designed curriculum that covers core learning areas such as entrepreneurship, tech and ICT, Microsoft and google suites training, media, social media utilization, skill-based training which includes fashion, photography, and makeup. The program also covers life and soft skills. 
The first implementation of the Upskill Hub was in April, 2023 at the Heritage Homes Orphanage. 13 teenagers were trained and were certified at the end of the program. The program was an extensive and intensive learning program that ran for a period of 8 weeks, with each session lasting for three (3) hours.

Education Fest Program

Education Fest Program - Heritage Homes Orphanage, Lekki

Execution Date: January 2023

At the Education Fest Program 2022, Education for Africa Foundation will addressed 13 teenagers at the Heritage Homes Orphanage, Lekki-Ajah, Lagos. The foundation also donated educational games and books to the children. The games to donated were monopoly, chess and scrabble. The Foundation also provided the children with refreshments. It was an enlightening program!

The project provided a School Bag containing the school supplies listed below for 90 underprivileged students in three public secondary schools in Lagos State:

    2. Mathematical Set
    3. Pens
    4. Exercise books
    5. Socks

Project Outcomes and Impact

  • Providing these supplies: Improved the learning experience of underprivileged students in public secondary schools through fees payment, made learning easier and enjoyable for underprivileged students in public secondary schools
  • Fostered quality education

Facts for Acts Advocacy Project

The Facts For Acts Advocacy Project

Execution Date: September 2022

People in dire need of education, healthcare etc. The project utilized various hashtags such as #everyfactshouldspuranact #factsforacts. Some facts presented for acts during the project includes, the rate of out-of-school children in Nigeria, the rate of girl children out-of-school, the education rate of girls in Northern Nigeria amongst other facts presented.

 The schools include – Igbobi Junior High School, Angus Memorial Senior High School and Gbagada Comprehensive Junior High School. The school supplies provided supported these children with the basic educational materials required for a better learning experience.
